In 2016 we installed a biomass boiler to meet all of the farm’s heat requirements. The boiler is fed with woodchip so is ‘green’ and also reduces our reliance on fossil fuels. We also decided to start a district heating network with the boiler so local cottages are also supplied with heat from the boiler

In 2012, the farm erected a wind turbine to supply most of our electricity needs. Any excess is sold to the National Grid.

Looking after the land is becoming increasingly important. To try to keep the soil in the best possible health we incorporate all FYM back into the soil. The dung from the chicken shed is also incorporated to make sure our soil is in best possible health
